Hi, I’m Susan, speech-language pathologist, founder of Moxie Speech Therapy, LLC, and mom to two school-aged daughters. Like many parents, I’ve navigated the process of seeking developmental and academic support for my own children. Those personal experiences have deepened my empathy, strengthened my commitment to family-centered care, and given me a meaningful understanding of what it feels like to advocate for your child within complex systems.
Before becoming an SLP, I spent five years as a school counselor, where I discovered my true passion: helping children with communication challenges thrive, both in their daily lives and within school environments. That passion led me back to graduate school and into a career that blends my love of language, neurodiversity, advocacy, and child development.
I hold master’s degrees in both speech-language pathology and school counseling, and earned my SLP degree from the University of Colorado Boulder. I’ve worked in a variety of educational and therapeutic settings, including early intervention, where I support infants and toddlers in building foundational communication skills. I work with children of all ages with a range of communication needs, including speech sound disorders, language delays, fluency challenges, dyslexia, and language-based learning differences.
My approach is holistic and family-centered. I love partnering with parents and caregivers, not only to support their child’s communication, but also to empower them with tools and strategies to advocate for their child’s needs across home, school, and community settings.
Outside of work, I’m happiest spending time with friends and family. I love listening to live music, snowboarding, hiking, and camping with my husband, our two daughters, and our dogs, Lucky and Gus.
Hi, I’m Jennifer, a Speech-Language Pathologist Clinical Fellow who values family-centered, compassionate care. I earned my master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences.
I discovered my passion for this field through my dad’s speech therapy journey following a brain aneurysm. Witnessing his recovery and the impact of compassionate, skilled care inspired my career path and continues to shape how I support individuals and their families today.
Before becoming an SLP, I spent 13 years working in a variety of healthcare settings, including home health, behavioral health, inpatient acute and rehabilitative care, and outpatient therapy. These experiences provided a strong foundation in patient-centered care, interdisciplinary collaboration, and support for individuals with diverse needs and environments.
During my graduate training, I gained experience across school-based settings, pediatric home health, and skilled nursing, working with individuals with a wide range of communication needs. I focus on creating therapy that is functional, engaging, and meaningful in everyday life.
I am especially passionate about partnering with families and believe that caregivers play a vital role in a child’s success. I prioritize building collaborative, supportive relationships and providing practical strategies that empower families to support communication across daily routines.
At the heart of my work is a commitment to advocacy, offering compassion, comfort, and hope while helping each individual build confidence and connection through all forms of communication.
Outside of work, I am happiest spending time with my husband and our son, connecting with friends, exploring, and finding balance in the little things that bring joy to everyday life.
